| | | Mhm, I read it.
It was quite an entertaining read. A bit lengthy though, it got extremely repetitive towards the end.
A cycle of GIRLS,DRUGS,*paragraph about the band*,GIRLS,DRUGS became evident.
Fun though. |

| | | i liked it, he seems like an interesting guy. i have to reiterate what everyone else has said, in that i wish he had spent a bit more time writing about the band and a little less time about, say, yohanna for instance. |

| | | Wasn't it ghost written? I think I heard that somewhere.
Although now that I think of it, Courtney may have said that on this site... so may or may not be true. |

| | | I love the girl who out Gwen Stefannied Gwen Stefani, even before there was a Gwen Stefani!
Gwen hung around the Chilis guys when she was younger (Flea got them their record deal) I bet she totally stole her persona off that girl |

| | | Yes i love this book. I love tales of sex, drugs & rock n roll. However, Anthony surprised me because he seemed to fall madly in love with so many of the women he screwed! ... or so he says.
You should also read The Dirt by Motley Crue if you like stuff like that! Its the best! |

I'm almost 100% sure. | yeah it was ghost written with Larry Sloman.
yeah i do agree that it got a bit repetitive towards the end and there wasn't always that much about the band and the music but then it was a book about his life not the Chillis. I didn't realise he was still a massive junkie during californication. I have a lot more respect for him now cos he was a massive junkie but he's still here and he's clean now (hopefully) it's also made me appreciate the Chillis a lot more, i went off them a bit since Californication. |

| | I liked it too. He's really open about how self-involved and arsehole-like he was and still is! I think this book prob helped him a lot - am sure i read that he hadn't seen the obvious cycles and patterns in his life until he put it down on paper and it gave him a new level of understanding about why he did certain things/made the choices that he did - and how to make some changes.
Only issue i really have with it is that i read an interview with John Frusciante and he hasn't read it but he's been told about what's in it, and he said that AK put some stuff in it which, as friends, they decided they would never speak about. Think he was kinda hurt about that. That's not very cool IMHO. |

My mom's reading it currently, but she's convinced he lied about most of his childhood. haha |

| | | Yea, I don't really doubt its validity. I mean, he still has some issues. He's dating a 19 year old for crying out loud!
but in any case, the book was a very interesting read. I'm surprised he's still alive. and looks as incredible as he does. |

| | | My boyfriend's sister owns it and said I could borrow it, but I didn't take the chance and she's moving to California on Monday. Bummer. Now I want to read it. I didn't think it'd be that good.
I heard it talks about his cheating a lot, and it's kind of depressing. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
