| Party of One: The Loner's Manifesto by Anneli Rufus I recommend this book to everyone whether you're a loner, know a loner or even are just slightly interested in the label 'loner'.
It's a very interesting read, the author dissects the label and how the media has used it throughout the years. She talks about pop culture, film, media, advertising, love/sex, crime, technology, art, religion, sanity, eccentricity and childhood. It's from the perspective of a loner and lets the reader in on what it really feels like to be one. Very insightful and brutally funny at times.
What I found the most interesting was how society's perception of loners has changed over the years. This author did her homework and what she has to say is worth listening to. I honestly can't imagine someone not liking this book. |
