I was feeling half determined not to like this, as I took an instant dislike to Lionel Shriver after reading a couple of interviews with her. But damnit, I'm hooked now. A mere fifty pages left, which I'll finish off this evening.

So what did others think?

i loved it, although at first i didn't like the narrator's style or the way it was written. i thought it was pretentious

however, after the first chapter the story had me hooked and i forgot about the style

I'm literally just a couple of letters/chapters in, but already I am thoroughly enjoying this book.

I didn't realise that the book started after the incident with Kevin, and I'm enjoying the way that it's a different perspective; an aftermath rather than a build up to the murders, and from the family point of view rather than Kevins. Although it might shift time further into the book so I'll keep my opinions open. But so far VERY good.

Why, what's wrong with him?

I loved the book. I guessed the twist at the end though, but even so a bloody good book.
