| | | F. Scott Fitzgerald What do you think about him?
I just finished The Great Gatsby and I really loved it. I was thinking about This Side of Paradise next, since it was his first book and I've heard a lot of good things about it.
Anyway, any other fans? I know Zelda Fitzgerald was also a writer... anyone read any of her stuff? |

| | | I could -not- get through the Great Gatsby.
Maybe my English class ruined it. But I read the first six chapters and never picked it back up. |

| | | i loved great gatsby. one of the only books required for school reading that i actually could say i enjoyed. i'm thinking of picking up "tender is the night" next.
yes, zelda wrote one novel on her own, "save me the waltz"...it's hard to find. she wrote a bunch of poems and even a play somewhere too. |

| | | The time period was interesting. The party scene of the 1920s. I guess thats why. i dunno, the remake of the original with Redford was good. I never saw the original movie.
The book was read while out of town and it was somehow a comfort to read...Although I'm not sure I finished it.
The movie was done well...And like I typed, the party scene of the 20s seemed pretty hip. Those wack songs and dances were just crazy.
This required-reading in high school was one that I didn't hate.
Many have opinions about this book, good or bad. |

| | | I've only read "The Great Gatsby" and adore it. I studied it in high scool, and did it again at uni. I'll have to go to the library to find more books by him. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
