| | | Brer Rabbit stuff and these books with animal characters, mostly mice and rabbits.
Brothers Grimm and Hans Christian Anderson stories, both unedited versions, like when Cinderellas sisters cut off their heels and toes to fit into the slipper and blood just oozes out! Haha, Disney thought that version was too scary... |

I remember Pam and Jane and the furry thing they were exploring under the blanket...which turned out to be a hot water bottle. And conceited Clara. Oh Enid! There was definitely some innuendo in some of your tales!
Anyone remember the Noddy and Big Ears thing where psycho parents thought they were gay from sleeping in the same bed? |

My favourite was "The Naughtiest Girl is a Monitor". I lusted atted Whyteleafe (or however that's spelled, I forget), it was like my perfect little fantasy that I'd escape into every night before bed. I liked the Secret Seven alot but could never get into the Famous Five.
Looking back on the language I cringe. Jolly good show. |
