| | | Battle Royale. Anyone else read that book? I mean the novel not the graphic novel. Wow. Not seen the film yet - how does it compare to the book? I've seen the second, apparently it's not as good as the first.

| | | The first Battle Royale film is my favourite film ever. The second one... not so much. I haven't read either of the books though. |

| | | im pretty sure there's just the one novel - and its really good. theres several graphic novels which makes up the one typed novel version.
the film does look pretty good. the second was a bit nuts - like at the end with the guy coming in with that sports stuff on.

| | | I want to read the novel, as I've been told it goes into more detail to explain why the characters' backgrounds (such as Kiriyama).
The film is so heartbreaking and it has made me cry at various points (primarily for Chigusa, as I am smitten with Chiaki Kuriyama). I think it's also great, powerful, and sadly misunderstood. |

| | | I haven't read the novel, I'm quite eager to do so though.
I've read the first volume of the graphic novel and seen both films. Battle Royale is fantastic, the sequel isn't worth taking a second to contemplate watching. It's dirt. |
