| | | because we all love Shakespeare Whats your most and least favorite of his plays.
I adore Othello and A Midsummer Nights Dream.
I hate Romeo and Juliet, I cannot stand it. It seems so wishy washy and way too overdone now. I remember being made to study this in school because a girl in our class was too dense to understand A Midsummer Nights Dream. I was absolutly fuming!
oh, favorite Othello quote
'I will wear my heart upon my sleeve, for daws to peck at: I am not what I am'.

I adore all of Shakespeare's plays. I don't see any point in my buying Shakespeare publications, so I've read virtually all of his plays online. It's difficult to list least favourites, I love all of his works so much. Among my favourites are: The Merchant of Venice, Hamlet, Othello (I love it so much I owe my name-sake to it ), Titus Andronicus, Macbeth and Love's Labours Lost. I was delighted upon recieving my school booklist yesterday, my English class will be studying Othello next term. Though brilliant, it's quite transparent and I anticipate that I will have no problems whatsoever on being examined on it. Whereas with Hamlet (which is what my school usually chooses for that term), the analogys/themes/contrasts/emotions, etc are so many and so varied it can be diffucult to get your head around something, pin it down and explain it (if that makes sense). Last year, my class studied The Merchant of Venice (which I was examined on last week), and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The modern film adaptation isn't bad either, Al Pacino makes a simply gobsmacking Shylock (though I will argue that Al Pacino makes a simpy gobsmacking everything). |

| | | i really do love hamlet.
if i was an actor it'd be my dream role to play any of the characters. i think it's the first piece of 'classic' literature that made me realize why classic literature is important. |

| | | My favourites are the Merchant of Venice (number one) and Macbeth. I hate a Midsummer Nights Dream (studied it THREE FUCKING TIMES in school), The Tempest (AMND relocated to a rock) and Twelfth Night. |

favourite would probably have to be othello, closely followed by twelfth night. i like romeo and juliet as well but it's far more predictable and simple than some of his other works. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
