Birthday Present For Holly: Shakespeare Fans...

I fucking hate Shakespeare. I'm actually majoring in English but I can't be bothered. I have an exam tomorrow (ON MY BIRTHDAY), and she basically told us what the thesis topics are going to be.
For whatever reason she wants us to make an Argumentative Essay comparing the tragedies Othello to Romeo & Juliet. I was only half listening but she muttered something about violence, and the gender roles (specifically the relationships between Juliet&Nurse and Desdemona&Emila)...I get it, Nurse & Emilia are both strong women, and Juliet & Desdemona are weak & easily controlled. But I don't know what the hell to write about in detail.

So... anyone want to "inspire me"?
Consider it a birthday gift?
I have seven hours to prepare for it tomorrow but I am really just tired of getting Shakespeare crammed down my throat I can't even be bothered right now.

Sigh.

Funny, I thought people would be jumping to write essays for fun. hahaha

Can't blame me for trying! I'm going to put this off even longer and go to bed!

I would help you if I could

Shakespeare just happens to be something I've never ever read. I conveniently took easier courses in high school where we read easier books.

i used to buy those passnote books because i couldn't be bothered to read Shakespeare. you can probably do a google search for them. if you've got time, read a few of the character analysis parts & throw them altogether.

i would've helped out if i'd seen this thread earlier. i like doing essays for fun

Is Juliet so weak as all that? She's a headstrong 12-year old who tries to stand up to her dad, she's the mastermind of the "cheat death and live happily ever after" plan, even if it does go a little pear-shaped?
Nurse is the one who changes her mind on a dime about Romeo as soon as Paris hoves into view - "Romeo's a dishclout to him" - and Juliet is burned by this and not tempted by the baubles of marriage to Paris, and makes the decision to end her confidence with the Nurse - "henceforth thou and my bosom shall be twain" [sic, probably].
