LET'S DEBATE.

Othello's extreme love turned into extreme jealousy, so arguably his best attribute became his biggest flaw, but true... not in the stereotypical way...
Othello realizes his mistake at the end and commits suicide.

Desdemona, being the stereotypical subservient female, forgives Othello at the end, allowing the audience to also forgive Othello. Somewhat.

But really, there is no comparison to Romeo & Juliet. For never was there a story of more woe, than this of Juliet and her Romeo.

*claps* you got good essay lingo skills!

i really cant remember stuff properly to be able to partake in a good debate, woe.

but this is what i do remember;

i had no compassion or warmth or any positive feelings towards othello at all. throughout the whole play. he made me so cross that i wish desdemona did do the naughty with cassio just to piss on him.

my english teacher did not agree.

.
i'll have a teeny go

committing suicide isnt proper in them days. you dont do it, it makes you a bad man boo, therefore all hero cred is gone.

nah i dont forgive him! i want him to suffer!

= tragic hero fail.

I didn't like him much either. Especially after I saw the film with Laurence Fishburne playing Othello. It was pretty much the most boring Matrix sequel I've ever watched.

i havent seen that version, i would like too though, i love watching shakespeare stuff

have you seen orson welles' film of othello? have a peek!

i wanna go to the globe so bad to see a play. but im worried the day i choose to go it will be a school mega trip day out and there will be children everywhere screaming and making things sticky and broken with their messy clumsy hands, and i'll have to sit through the whole thing giving off mum looks.
