Blogging is so prolific nowadays. While it has always been an important means of communication and expression for me, it feels that recently (as in a couple of years recently) having a blog became GENUINE form of dispersing information and expressing opinions. It is no longer only a medium for goth kids to post their lyrics or self-harm photos.

Do any of you blog? And I should probably clarify: do any of you blog with a clear intent to either inform or entertain?

I am not sure I do. I do write a blog. In fact, I wrote a post tonight. But I feel as if my blogging still veers too much on the personal and let's face it, my life might be fun for me to read, but not so much the public at large.

I LJ, which is entirely different (see: method of diffusing post-teenage angst). I might start a BLOG blog in which I moan about the state of things today, and postulate that everything can be improved with a cup of tea and a cat on one's lap.

I've never tried to blog, but I'm sure I could get into it. Finding a topic worth writing about might be hard though? It would probably just be me bitching about one things or another, talking about tasty foods and teas, while posting pictures of rats every second day. Someone could enjoy that, I'm just not sure who.

For now I use KR, and that's it. This is the only place on the internet I "like" right now.

I like the sound of my own voice

i suppose thats the point of all of this isnt it. we all ultimately write on LJ or in our blogs in very self indulgent ways. im definitely guilty of that.

ive been thinking a lot lately about using this medium in more useful ways. im not planning to change the world or anything, but i suppose than more than anything im looking for meaningful ways to have discussions about what ive read, gone to see, and enjoyed recently.

i started a blog that was ostensibly a craft blog so i could post pictures of all the things i sew. but lately it is just filled with pictures of my kids or things i want to buy but can't. it rambles.....

LJ used to be my place to vent about crap i can't talk to anyone about irl. but now this dad in isaac's class is a friend on there 'OH YOU LJ>>ADD ME!!' so i feel like i really can't vent since he actually knows me

I blog in my head constantly.

I mostly forget to write it down, or it no longer becomes relevant.

Every now and again someone persuades me to start a blog, I make maybe three entries on it, and then realise that I'm just not that sort of person. I write huge amounts, just whenever I'm bored, but I wouldn't feel comfortable just vomiting the tedious details of my life and such into the ether. Having read a few people's blogs, I feel like if I wouldn't read it, I shouldn't write it!

Plus you like KR because you actually get a response, it's not writing yourself into a vacuum like most blogging is. I used to have an LJ but that was mostly because it was safer than paper, my parents couldn't find it and read it. I think if I did write on the internet it'd turn into personal stuff - most of my political/ethical/social views come from weird parts of my world-view that even people who agree with my positions would just be alienated by.
