So I was watching Elizabeth...

and after Geoffrey Rush's portrayal of Sir Francis Walsingham i fancy reading a bit about him, is there any books anyone out there anyone can recommend? ive been looking on amazon but im not sure which ones will be reliable and which will be a load of pish (not that the movie's portrayal is that accurate anyway apparently but nonetheless...)
any advice would be much appreciated.

maybe start by reading some general books about elizabeth's reign, then read their bibliography. that's what i do. rush was amazing as walsingham - exactly how i pictured him.

The Life of Elizabeth I by Alison Weir is excellent and may be a place to find good material. Geoffrey Rush was hot as Walshingham.
