childrens books

what childrens books do you remember from your childhood? especially picture ones with illustrations. mainly from 10 under, before there were a huge amount of words!
are there any that stand out and you would say were a main part of your childhood, if so why? what parts do you remember and what parts about the characters or pictures drew you in?

if you have small children what are their favourite books and why?

Bunnicula (But I think I was a bit older for that one)

My kids love Duck in a Truck, the Peeing Circus, & Hop on Pop.
My oldest daughter is 8 and loves Junie B. and The Magic Treehouse books. Chapter books for older kids. She loved Chicka Chicka Boom Boom in preschool.
