I cannot believe, being Irish, I've only discovered the amazing world of Ross O' Carroll-Kelly. It was only chance I picked the first book up at the airport the other day. I've never read anything that has made me laugh so loud I scared passengers in a plane and something that influences my accent momentarily. Best guilty pleasure I've ever encountered. Any other reluctant fans? Or welcoming fans?

The books ARE hilarious and brilliantly written, so good it was even a theatre play for a while in Dublin. Only problem is, I feel like stabbing something very violently when I see the name Ross O'Carroll Kelley. Ultimate tosser anti-hero that truely makes my blood pressure rise. I find it exhausting reading the books due to my sure hatred for a character that doesn't even exist, pity, cause its damn hilarious!

The unfortunate thing is I know people like him and his friends.Parents actually allow theor offspring to turn out as so in certain parts of the country. I suppose the underlaying truth makes it funny.

which book would you recommend?

The Miseducation of Ross O'Carroll Kelly, or The Miseducation Years in later editions of the book is the first book in the series and it goes in the style of a fictional diarist a là Bridget Jones or Adrain Mole. (God I miss Adrian)
