i am sick of reading amazon.com reviews on books.
but for me it's important. even if a good friend recommends me her favourite book, i would not buy it if i have not glanced over a review and checked out the starz....

so, does anyone else do this and if so where is a good place to read up on reviews?

people review products with video descriptions. you get to see the product but also hear their opinions on them. many products are reviewed so i'm sure you'll find what you are looking for.

librarything.com is great too! search for a book and then on the book's information page there are heaps of reviews.

goodreads.com

But they're not like "official" reviews. Just reviews by ppl like you and me. So take it for what it's worth. I like it. You need a profile, though.

i know this is a bit, you know, but i do the iread thing on facebook. i enjoy it a lot, especially when it gives you "like" books that other people enjoyed.
