I think it's a fantastic love story, but love doesn't have to be romantic... More interesting often than romance is disturbing or sinister or obsessive, violent love. It's still love. You don't need poetry and roses.

To be honest, I don't really remember it all that well. I think I was probably too young to appreciate it when I read it, because thinking back to it, it didn't really affect me at all.
