What is the phrase in (I think Spanish) or was it mexican that means when the lizards run??
I can't find my copy and all the translation sites don't seem quite right... |

| | haha, I never would have come up with that, but I just wanted to come in and appreciate tiger eyes and all judy blume books in general. I can still remember certain phrases from just about all of her books that I read. I take that to be a sign that they were good or something.

| | I don’t recall Tiger Eyes! And just yesterday I was shocked when someone didn’t get the reference when I said “My biggest association with the name Sheila is that Judy Blume book.”
I’ll still put out my deepest appreciation for Judy (and Paula) though.

| | | Hah, Forever. That was my porn when i was 13. They actually made a film of it.
I loved Are you there God? It's me Margaret. What did Paula Danziger write? She's familiar to me...
I didnt read much Judy Blume after are you there God?...., and forever because i moved onto Virginia Andrews.
Then i discovered real books. But man, Judy Blume was/ is a great writer for teenagers. |

Bat in Bunk Five is a sequel of sorts to The Cat Ate My Gymsuit, focusing on that book’s main character as she spends a summer working at a camp, and I recall that one of her campers was the little sister of the main character in another of her books.

| | | judy blume, how i love you. i don't remember tiger eyes but i bet you anything i read it.
i'm taking a paper at uni on african american freedom struggles atm and i swear to god i had a revelation the other day in class about how i learned about segregation from a judy blume book (shut up, i'm not an american) when i was nine or so.
to whoever mentioned deenie - i totally remember the bits about her 'special place' and her masturbating in the bath with a flannel. is that right? or am i just really dirty?
also, i cannot tell you how happy i was to stumble upon a copy of summer sisters in my library in high school. TORRID.

| | | you know i totally couldn't really stand any of Judy Blume's books - i guess being a catholic and weird and not at all with it, i thought mastubation was kinda gross and reading about it was grosser, and i was always like - who are these girls? do they even exist? GROSS!
but
Tiger Eyes is one of my alltime ALLTIME favourite books - it fucking kills me and i used to cry when i read it for the (twelth) time when i was a kid. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
