| | | I liked Invisible Monsters the best but Haunted is a close second. I didn't really like Fight Club as much has I had imagined I would, probably because I had seen the movie before reading the book. |

| | | I've read almost everything by him. I'd have to say Invisible Monsters. The others are good books. His style is disturbingly engrossing, but Invisible Monsters really had the most impact with me. |

| | | survivor, by far. next in line would be diary or lullaby.
and i agree that haunted pretty much sucked, but i'm looking forward to seeing the choke film.

| | | i actually think he's quite shit and repetitive. but back when i didn't, my favourites were Haunted, Diary and Fight Club. those were the first three of his that i read, after that i just found that he constantly repeated himself. |

| | | I've read: Invisible Monsters, Fight Club, Diary and Haunted.
Invisible Monsters is hands down my favourite.
Diary kinda confused me and I didn't like the ending (although I can't say how I'd have ended it myself) same with Haunted. Haunted I didn't like as a whole work but the poems are all really good and half of the short stories are beyond amazing, the other half not really that great. The 3rd person narrative parts were not as good I thought.
Fight Club I really enjoyed but I think it worked better as a film than a book, even though the book came first. The parts with Marla Singer though that are only in the novel are so good. The whole phone call thing, I mean the really freaky calls coming from like dead souls or something calling her over to their side was so fascinating and haunting...oh shit, I'm scaring myself now. The ending of the film is my favourite ending of any film. (The ending of the movie Trainspotting is probably a close second.) But the way that the book Fight Club ended made me really anxious and claustrophobic.
Yeah, Invisible Monsters was flawless in my opinion.
I want to read Choke, Lullaby, Survivor...fuck it, I want to read all of his works. Even though they make my stomach hurt because I start questioning everything around me and society and my true self and my friends' real characters and such so much that I get really panicky and stressed. It's probably not healthy for me to read Chuck Palahniuk actually. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
