There. Is. No. 'Real'. Alice.
If she existed, they would have found her by now. The diary is complete bullshit anyway from start to finish.

| | | I remember reading this and feeling shamed or cheated. However, I probably would have enjoyed it more if I hadn't known that it was fabricated, blah blah.
It was rather entertaining though. |

There may very well be an 'Alice', haven't I said something about the book 'Jay's Journal' and there actually was a kid named Alden Barrett, and he was REAL! It was written a few years after Go Ask Alice. Don't force your opinion on me, I have the right to my own opinion thank you very much. |

| | | Go ask alice is not a real true story. It was fake, It's basically a scare technique. The girl was not a real person, it was just a story. |

That right there tells you that it was obviously fake. Its a fact that you can not overdose or become physically addicted to marijuana at any time. Fuck that.
Second, if you have aunts or uncles that grew up in the Late 60's and 70's then you would totally understand all the LSD involvments used in this book. Even I had an aunt who wigged out on acid and had to go to the hospital because they slipped it to her at a party. Thats just how shit was then. Of corse people don't want things to be like that now. Scare tactic, step inside the dark world of teenagers and drugs. The fucking beatles is even mentioned in this book, doesn't that look a little suspecious, typical hippie dream shit man. |

William Shatner (plays Alice's dad) and Andy Griffith are in it. | They made a move of it? Shit, I gotta youtube that.
But yeah, I agree on the aspect that every 12-15 year old reads Go Ask Alice. I did. It's a good read, but I think some people make too big a deal out of it because of the drug references. Well, maybe thats just my experience with it. This girl I knew (in her 20's mind you.) prided herself on reading it. She wasn't a big reader, but this was literally the only book she owned in her house. |

| | | I think I figured it was unlikely to be real when it got to the bit where these journals were "gathered from notes written on scraps of paper"... it just seemed a bit... suspect.

He was Alice's dad, the Professor of the College in town. He was the guy that everybody wanted to get in good with...even Alice (lol). But alas, it was too late. The "bad kids" got to her first.
I'm bummed that it was all fake. But I still have that movie and I'll always cherish it just the same. Oh yes I will. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
