I already got a used copy anyway so that's what I'll be reading if anyone else wants to join me. cricket? |

| | | I'll start reading next week when I get to teh big city and get a copy of The Golden Notebook.
On a side note, it's activities week, and classes go around doing fun shit and getting points for it, and imagine my gasming when I discovered that thanks to the seal placed on it, the markbook for my class was in fact a Golden Notebook!!!!!! My fellow Lessing enthusiasts on staff were informed, and found it duly amusing.

| | did anyone read her nobel speach about how the internet is shit?
"How will our lives, our way of thinking, be changed by the internet, which has seduced a whole generation with its inanities so that even quite reasonable people will confess that, once they are hooked, it is hard to cut free, and they may find a whole day has passed in blogging etc?" I worry more for the younger generations who haven't experienced anything else. because I can always look back on my life and say that most of it was spent living/learning/ not wasting time on the internet but it's all they know. I'm sure it's just me getting old/ thinking the younger generation is doomed, but I don't know how they ever learn anything. wikipedia is about the only "educational" reading they seem to do on the net.

and she tells richard something like she wanted to be free herself for the first time since she had tommy. | |
