| I just posted about this in another thread, but Yes. I just read his book and it's a very entertaining read. I knew these guys back when they were just getting famous and truth be told, I HATED Vince Neil and was pretty close to that sentiment about Nikki Sixx, yet, I was open to this book.
I came away from it thinking that while I saw the huge asshole that was Mr. Sixx, I could also understand why he was that way. Also, I laughed at some of this shit and I felt sad about some of it as well.
If you were actually a fan of "The Crue", you'll probably like it even more, as there is just tons of insider's views about the goings-on of that band as it was hitting the big time. I was never a big fan of them, but as a GnR fan, it was pretty cool hearing about them going on their big tour with Motley Crue.
You should check it out for all of the debauchery and spectacle. But if you're trying to recover from drug addiction and feel even close to a relapse, this book talks about the actual doing of the drugs CONSTANTLY as it chronicles a full year in writing of Sixx's descent into hell of drug addiction while he records it all in his diary during the year 1987. It is very dark, real, sometimes disgusting and sometimes funny. |
