Stephen King: The Dark Tower

So I'm a die hard fan of SK. I've been trying to build an arsenal of all his books to prepare myself for the DT series. So far I've done The Stand (uncut version, phew), Insomnia (but need to reread), Shining, Christine, Gerald's Game, most of his short stories and now onto Dreamcatcher. I know that the Talisman is a key one as well, but any recommendations for other pre-DT fodder?

Well, it's good to have a knowledge of Stephen King's catalogue if you're getting into DT since there are references to other books. They are fantastic books though, get into them ASAP.

The Dark Tower (series) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

BTW, I have little faith in the film/TV show/whatever it's going to be adaptation.

Yeah, 'Salem's Lot plays a huge part in it, but not until the fifth and sixth books.

That's the only outside novel I'd say is essential to enjoying The Dark Tower. The Stand to a lesser extent, but I see you've already read that.

Books like Christine and The Shining have nothing to do with it.
