I don't have much to back it up, but it would be a twist to it all and J.K. does like them. Remember Tonks and Lupin?? I also wondered if Dumbledore somehow played a part in getting the Potter's killed, because he saw it needed to happen, or something. As well as possibly telling Snape that he would need to kill him (Dumbledore) at some point, because he saw it would be for the best in the long run. I also have a theory Snape will die when Voldemort discovers Snape is really working against him.
One thing about the prophecy, Trelawny must have completed the prophecy before Snape was discovered. We know she completed it because we see all of it in the pensieve, but she also remembers Snape being found outside the room eavesdropping, so perhaps Snape did hear all of it? And then didn't tell Voldemort all of it? Perhaps it was how Snape really repaid James for the time James saved Snape from werewolf-form Remus.
Just a few theories I have. Now I really feel like a geek. |

thats a little late. | I didn't know it existed... and yeah, that is pretty late. Wasn't Book 7 orginally scheduled for January 2008, though? That might explain it.

| | ^ ditto. stuff it i think i may re read the whole series again just so im super nerded up when the next book comes out.
it would make sense in a professional way if she killed harry, at least then no one else can do a "new" harry potter book if jk dies or something..or if she gets addicted to crack and has to find some money fast. just a thought, at least if she kills him she will know that he cant come back and thats that.
dumbledore was smart. i cant remember a time when he was wrong or made a poo decision (although i havent read the books in ages so i may be wrong) therefore logically he must be right about snape being good. but thats what is great about these books everything is guess work until you read.
im going to be mega sad when this book comes out as i will never experience this nerdy waiting feeling for the next one again... |

| | | this is also one of the reasons that i think she may kill harry, it would be too easy for someone to write spin off books about him.
check out muggle.net, it has loads of info, rumours etc.. apparently jk realy rates it and has links to it from her website.
i read these books to my children, i dont need to but it has become a kinda family tradition. it was bad enough reading aloud when dumbledor died, i dont think they will understand my sobbed words if harry dies. |

i like the theory of the potters deaths being in dumbledores grand scheme. |

i'm thinking snape had to kill Dumbledore and it was all agreed early on. Snape wasn't happy with something earlier in the book and i reckon it was Dumbledore asking him to kill him, so he could get close to Voldemort. The way Dumbledore pleaded right before he was killed was not something he would have done! So i think hes good.. and'll probably end up being killed/sacrificing himself/something noble and Harry will feel bad.
when the book comes out i'm going to be really careful on the net, luckily i read book 6 in a few days and so didnt come across spoilers |

| | | a recent rumour i heard of is the dumbledoor is bad!!!!
every year it seems he puts harry in front of voldermort. he knows so much yet did not know about the fake mad eye or pushed harry further about hearing the snake in the pipes etc...maybe he knows but wants harry to die as a sacrificial lamb. (i think that they will both die at the same time)
i am not sure if he is bad but it would be a fucking good twist! |

| | | It sounds like he'll turn out good but I sort of hope not - I mean, honestly, he killed Dumbledore. Even if it was planned - Just no.
At the same, I dunno. Was Dumbledore afraid of death? Fuck no, but that doesn't mean he was looking to kick the bucket. I hope Snape is bad. |

Or if he valued Snape's spy position over his own life. Or if he just knew it was the right time in the Hero's Journey for death of mentor, which I totally wouldn't put past him.

| | | Well, I was pretty shocked and upset when it happened but now I really think Snape MUST be good.
And I really need to re-read the books. I've forgotten so much.
