| | | the valley of the dolls so i am fifty pages into this book and am i ever finding it stressful... i have no idea of where exactly it is going other than that there will be pills and i vaguely recall watching some of the return of the valley of the dolls on television once and maybe remember bare breasts and strawberry alarm clock were in it (or maybe it was the valley of the dolls) but am i ever finding it stressful. as of right now i don't want anne to marry allen, i want her tell him to fuck right off and let her speak - and i want henry to drop his ultimatumn he's just dropped on her keeping her job... but anyway is it ever stressful... |

| | | The film with the Strawberry Alarm Clock was called "Beyond the Valley of the Dolls" and it had nothing to do with the book/film "Valley of the Dolls".
Its one of my favourite books ever so stick with it! Anne is a tragic and pathetic character and continues to be so throughout the book...its kinda sad but not enough for me to feel pity for her cuz she's so pathetic. Neely & Jennifer are the really interesting characters. Neely becomes such a bitch and well i wont tell you what becomes of Jennifer... |

| | | i'm 80 pages on it was getting pretty addictive for a while there. but i had a busy few days. i think i'll read on some more tonight.
i got it for like a dime or maybe fifty cents from a yard sale my old roomate was having... it's a nice hard cover copy with little white pills on the cover
it was fun the other day when my friend called and asked what i was doing...
"oh sitting here, dressed (description), with a copy of the valley of the dolls laying across me with my breast holding my place." |

| | | KEEP READING! When I first got it I read like 10 pages and there was too much noise in the house and I thought I was extra dumb and couldn't understand it so I put the book off for a few weeks. When I eventually read it I was addicted to it. And DON'T READ THE LAST PAGE! I did that at the start but forgot it and when I read it I cried my eyes out annoyed with the end. I stayed home from school to read it because I am rather pathetic like that. |

| | | There was a movie of 'Valley of the Dolls' and 'Beyond Valley of the Dolls'. I'd say watch the movies cuz it's all good trashy cinema. Then in the 90s there was a movie with Bette Midler and the guy from The Birdcage & The Producers... he's brilliant... can't remember his name. That's about the writer of the first 'Valley' book. The books take too much time. The movies are so much in the category of 'Bad Movies to Love' and very enjoyable for what they truly are. |

Its a Russ Meyer film about a 60s girl group!! The film Valley of the dolls is just awful. The book is way more entertaining. |

Its kind of like that, thats how I like the movie. |

It made me mad that they could turn such a good book into such a load of rubbish. |

I think that people put the two movies together because of a certain kind of camp value to watching them. They were re-released with all sorts of special packaging on the same day in the US. And Beyond the Valley of the Dolls totally bites the shit that made the movie Valley of the Dolls so trashy. So I think it makes more sense than fans of the book may like to believe to group the two films together. |

| | | I liked it! I almost couldn't get past how much I hated Neely, but in the end I was sooo glad that I finished it.
It was really good, it kept me up for many nights.. haha
Jenniffer was by far the best, I wish there was more about her, not so much of Anne, maybe
it was really solid though, all the way through |
