| | | This book, like Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment, is one of those books I really wish I could have read in its original language because it is the writing that is so exquisitely good. It's close to perfect in the translation, and so I believe it might even be perfect in Spanish (or Russian as the case is with Crime and Punishment).
Unfortunately I did not love this book as much as I could have because I lost it for about 4 months leaving it behind somewhere. When I got back to reading it I remembered each character's place in the story because I had been so wrapped up in the story, but coming back to it I was not as connected as I could have been had I not lost the book. |

| | | I'm in the middle of reading this book right now. I agree with the majority here; the writing is just amazing and I would love to be able to read it in Spanish, but unfortuntely, I don't understand it.
I read Love in the Time of Cholera a couple of months ago and loved that as well (possibly a bit more, I must admit). So I'd recommend that anybody even a bit curious should pick that up as well. |
