| | | so what was the last you you read? Every Nine Seconds, a Queer as Folk novel.
did you like it? Not really, but I expected it to suck. I just wanted to see what happened because I'm not allowed to watch the show.
if so what did you like about it? The sex was fairly graphic and included a lot of rim jobs. It took place in 1989, and I liked the faggy time capsule references to old Madonna, Pet Shop Boys, INXS, Depeche Mode etc.
who would you reccomend it to? Parapalegic fag hags under house arrest who have somebody to read to them
who wouldn't you reccomend it to? It's not the kind of book you recommend.
and if you didn't like it... what was the last book you enjoyed? The Corrections, Jonathan Franzen
what did you like about it? I like good stories. I'm too stupid for subtley, so I just like to see what happens. The Gary parts were my favorite. Denise parts were my second favorite. Chip was my favorite character but he was boring to read about.
who would you reccomend it to? Nobody. It's been recommended enough.
who wouldn't you reccomend it to? Rat Face. There are no pictures. |

| | | so what was the last you you read? red dragon by thomas harris.
did you like it? yes.
if so what did you like about it? i liked how the author successfully helped me to identify with and feel sorry for a ruthless serial killer. that's some cool shit right there.
who would you reccomend it to? anyone with a brain.
who wouldn't you reccomend it to? those of you without a soul. |

| | so what was the last you you read? Mindhunter by John Douglas did you like it? Yes if so what did you like about it? It was interesting. And I have a bit of a thing about serial killers, and that was indulged. So I liked.
who would you reccomend it to? People who like Thomas Harris type work, or CSI type shows - although it's about criminal profiling not forensics, and true crime fans.
who wouldn't you reccomend it to? The overly sensitive.

| | | So what was the last you you read? Lucky by Alice Sebold Did you like it? It was okay.. If so what did you like about it? The fact that nothing was held back, it wasnt made up of metaphors, it was all honest & out there, but thats also probably one of its rocky points. Who would you reccomend it to? People that aren't shocked or disturbed easily, this book even disturbed me though. People who like memoirs etc. Who wouldn't you reccomend it to? Sensitive people, probably wouldn't be good for people who have been victims of rape, and i wouldn't reccommend it to people who like to think life is peachy. |

| | | so what was the last you you read? Wide Sargasso Sea by Jean Rhys, and I am about to write an essay on it. did you like it? I loved it. if so what did you like about it? The writing style, the subject matter, the character of Antionette...even though it was set in a completely different time and place I could still relate to her very strongly. who would you recommend it to? Anyone who enjoyed Jane Eyre, or likes books about mad people, books about race relations, or books set in the mid-1800s. It's a good book though, and I think people should read it. who wouldn't you recommend it to? Um...hmm. People who like crappy chick-lit. |

| | | so what was the last you you read? The Beach by Alex Garland
did you like it? I loved it, enters my top 10 favourites maybe
if so what did you like about it? I like lost world stories in general, like king solomons mines and things like that, and travel stuff in exotic places, so the setting was exactly what I'm into. I also really liked the main character turned in on himself and became a bit mad. Very fluidly written which meant it could be really quite long but you didn't have to labour over it.
who would you reccomend it to? anyone who likes books set in far away places, generally anyone actually I think it could be enjoyed by all.
who wouldn't you reccomend it to? only people that have a specific idea about what they like and don't like to deviate from courtroom drama's or crime novels. people into romance novels because there is no love in the book at all and maybe people into the more everyday nature of things as being set on a secret beach in thailand it's not exactly something everyone can relate too.
and if you didn't like it... what was the last book you enjoyed?i liked it very much but the last book before that was Downward to the earth by robert silverberg
what did you like about it? it was set on a wierd jungle and again I love things set in wierd places. there was an animal society there and reading about their beliefs, philosophies and history was fascinating.
who would you reccomend it to? anyone that liked sci-fi
who wouldn't you reccomend it to?i don't think it would appeal to a lot of people who didn't like sci-fi, its obviously really far out, alien planet, talking elephants, spaceships and stuff. It's one I haven't really pushed on people even though I loved it.

| | | So what was the last you you read? Sex, Drugs and Cocoa Puffs bye Chuck Klosterman (albeit it was the 3rd time i've red it) Did you like it? yeah, it was super good. enjoyed it a lot. If so what did you like about it? I liked the fact that it's just sorta random thoughts and stories. Yeah, i def. love the randomness of everything the most. Who would you reccomend it to? people who enjoy light hearted reads, people that enjoy saved by the bell and MTV's real world. Also people that are fans of Sims. Who wouldn't you reccomend it to? people who take the literature very seriously i guess. people who don't have a good sense of humor. |

| | | so what was the last you you read?
The Stone Boudoir, by Theresa Maggio
did you like it?
Not especially. It was okay.
if so what did you like about it?
The occasional description of the characters and their Sicilian tendancies.
who would you reccomend it to?
Anyone who LOVES Italy and hasn't been there very much. Or people who just want a quick and simple read.
who wouldn't you reccomend it to?
Anyone else. Really, it's not that great.
and if you didn't like it... what was the last book you enjoyed?
I am loving Crime and Punishment right now. It's taking me a while because I am visiting family, and they do not leave much time for reading!
what did you like about it?
It's really nice to read an interesting plot put to such good writing especially after Maggio. The murder scene had me completely captured on the subway. It's practically a book about the psychology of a murderer, and that topic really interests, and I am especially interested in the classy but graphic way he tells the story.
who would you recommend it to?
People who enjoy reading. If you don't love to read you probably wouldn't get very far into it.
who wouldn't you reccomend it to?
The people I would be recommending the Stone Boudoir to.

who wouldn't you reccomend it to? | The Great Starvation Experiment.
I loved it because I not only learned about the experiment, but tons of other history as well. It didn't just tell you the isolated incident.
I would recommend it to anyone who wants to know about history.
I wouldn't recommend it to people who are below average IQ.

if so what did you like about it? The language, the look into Australian culture
who would you reccomend it to? Someone who wanted to try something new, with great language and an engaging story.

did you like it? Yes.
if so what did you like about it? The perspective of a man and his niece housing a naive German soldier in WWII was interesting.
who would you reccomend it to? Anyone really.
who wouldn't you reccomend it to? Anyone who dislikes books.

| | | so what was the last you you read?
Gordon Corrigon's Mud, Blood and Poppycock
did you like it?
yeah, I did enjoy reading it
if so what did you like about it?
The fact that it induced a reaction, it infuriated me how at points, lives were reduced to figures, the fact these people were fathers and brothers meant nothing. It was convincing sometimes but I'm a firm believer that we lost a generation
who would you reccomend it to?
Anyone interested in War, especially WW1. People who prefer reality and figures to fantasy
who wouldn't you reccomend it to?
Those who read only fiction, for obvious reasons. |
