- because really she just understood that shakepeare passage in the same way i have (remember: my courtney brain) - so that death of kurt investigation is a load of bullshit because i know what she meant by it. she just quoted somethign that made sense to her the same way shakespeare makes sense to me, so when i read about it i thought "oh dear, poor fucking girl" because they were all piling everythign against her and making her look superbad (stupid private 'investigators'), when it was kurt that was the junkie wasting himself all the time, not her. and he was mistreating her all along so she had to finally retaliate. all you fucking males that think kurt's like some hero are just the kind of rats that mistreat women. courtney just did drugs to fill time. courtney has never been i real junkie. her mood swings at people just always made out to be the drugs. i hope if she's with billy pumpkin he'll treat her like the princess she deserves, not like everybody else has treated her her whole life.
i actually hope their are some lies in dirty blonde. if nothing was larger than life what would life be for. | hmm...well, aside from the fact that I don't understand the first half of your post (I'm guessing it has to do w/me being a newbie here...) let me say the following:
I love courtney and I honestly don't think Kurt is a hero. He was just a person, like everybody else, and he had problems, just like courtney.
and the fact that he was doing bad and she couldn't help him was maybe one of the reasons she took drugs. One reason, she had other problems aswell. And these problems are/were as much her fault as Kurt's were his fault.
Courtney was never a junkie??? correct me if I am wrong but to me a junkie is an addict. How many times has courtney been in rehab or doing detox??? I'd say more than once. And if you need to go to detox/rehab then you gotta have an additction/drug problem in the first place, otherwise you wouldn't need it.
and finally, I wish Courtney all the best and true happiness for her future, honestly, I do.
But it was not always everybody mistreating her, she has hurt and has been hurt. she left Norton. ok, maybe she thought he wasn't the love of her life, but that is surely not his fault and has nothing to do w/him treating her wrong.
and even if she has problems, I think there are tons of people trying to help her, like she and others were trying to help kurt, and like him, she doesn't want the help, or at least that is the feeling I get.
sorry for the rant, but as much as it annoys me when courtney is portrait as the devil and kurt as the saint, I find it equally annoying when this happens the other way round. |

yes , well morals are bad anyway, it's values that you own!! rock on.
" Since the show was looking for "youngsters who have exceptional singing, dancing, or musical ability, with a marked degree of performance experience," they told her she did not qualify, and as a consolation prize, gave her a picture of Mickey Mouse."
blerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrg. typical . always miss the greats, always miss the greats!
"Pictures of Love as a youth paint her as wide-eyed and innocent at first and later as a withdrawn punkette."
i think thats theh same with most of us alternativ kids!! the world is cruel!
"Although she hates to admit it to herself, she writes, "Rome was a huge cover-up," meaning that Cobain's Rohypnol-and-champagne overdose on March 4, 2004, was actually a suicide attempt. "I see it now. I just didn't want to see it then. Last night, I re-read the note he left in Rome. It's so obviously a suicide note, so f---ing obvious."
exactly what my gut feeling said. i just wouldnt except that courtney was made out to be it just because she was lost at the time busy with everything, and so who can blame her . it was total innocence all those "oh did i say that?" and everythign to those stupid kurt cobain investigators trying to nail her in over somethign she didn't do. iiii rekon kurt did it cause he woke upto the fact of how horrible he had been to courtney (empathy, remember).
- hahaha March 4, 2004 lol
"Without explanation, the book also includes an apology note addressed to both her husband and daughter, on Sunset Marquis letterhead: "I love you. Please forgive me. ... You are both too beautiful for me. I love you forever." ("Sunset Marquis," incidentally, is the name of one of the songs intended for her new album.) The two writings, positioned near photos of her curled up next to Cobain and of him kissing a baby Frances, prompts a newer note, scrawled across both pages in red ink: "I can't grow a new heart."
awww that makes me so sad. *hugs to courtney*.
exactly. you cant keep on feeling bad about kurt trying to kill himself.
kurt's ghost still really interests me but thats none of our business
let's wish courtney better days
PUT QUEEN SPLINTER BACK ON THE TOP OF THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(buy her new album for every single reletive ! heehee! ) |

I was all hoochie mama waving my hand around, "na-ah grandma, talk to the hand. it was released 31st, I know my shit".

| | | to whoever complained because there's already another book called dirty blonde- the full title is "dirty blonde: the diaries of courtney love". even if it were called just dirty blonde, there's no problem with that. lots of books have the same title
the library i work in has about thirty different books called "business ethics" and around 90 called "business ethics: [another boring bit here]".
you don't just use a title to find a book, after all.
i got my copy today. it's going to take a long time to read it all.
i think they've missed a trick with it though. if they just added some biographical background to it, or explanations to certain sections it would be accessible to new people, new fans, fans of celebrities in general.
as it stands it will only be of interest to hardcore fans. people who haven't read a biography of her will be confused, people who've only heard one or two records probably won't find it that interesting either. |

| | | oh dear. they must have some poor booksellers then
it should show that it's coming out soon on their system though, surely? i wonder whether giving them the ISBN (US 0865479593) would help.
or try amazon. it is cheaper too, although i don't like amazon much as they're driving bookstores out of business. i used to work for the biggest bookstore chain in the UK (waterstones) and they're not making anywhere near as much money as before. In fact I was supposed to get a permanent contract with them but they couldn't afford to keep me on and I had to leave after only 4 months. Imagine how bad it is for the little guys!
speaking of waterstones, actually they've knocked some money off the RRP, it's 15.99 at the moment. I reckon by christmas it'll either be half price or in the 3 for 2 offer. |

| | i just ordered from amazon. AUD$58.. pfft. i can only hope it comes before christmas and borders slashes the price so low it makes me feel stupid about spending so much on a courtney love memoir.
just out of curiosity, i googled waterstones and ironically, amazon.co.uk was the third entry that came up. |
