Books you expected to hate

...but ended up liking.

I did an American Lit module last semester and discovered I had to read Little Women.
I thought it was going to be a pile of drivel, I'd always viewed it as a kids book, but I actually really enjoyed it, and ended up writing my essay on it.

I also expected to hate The Secret History by Donna Tartt, but it is now one of my favourite books. I realised quickly my preconceptions about it were wrong.

I expected to hat Harry Potter but I enjoyed it. I used to make fun of it all the time with my sister, then in grade 7 my teacher was obessed with it and read it to us since hardly anyone in the class had read it I got hooked.

I have a lot of books I expected to love but hated

Lord of the Flies was a major one I thought I would like but I dont like it. I thought it was extreamly confuseing with all the characters and I got lost al ot in it. Then Agian that might just have been the timeing of when I chose to read the book which was durring the summer and I dont read as much then as I do durring the Winter and such so yah.

Also I have countless other books I've bought but was never able to get into and are like half read. waste of money..Oh well for every bad book I've bought I have 5 great ones so meh!!

I thought I would hate the Da Vinci Code, but I really liked it even though it wasn't extremely good. The ending did stink it up, though, and there were parts towards the end that were boring. But I certainly didn't expect to like the book as a whole as I did.

I haven't tried any Harry Potter. I think I'll hate it!

I thought I'd hate Prozac Nation but I didn't.
Same with Valley of the Dolls.

I thought Brave New World was going to be bad, but only the ending was. Now it's one of my favorites.
