i thought nancy's mum was a bit of a dick- it seemed like she was just like fuck off nancy stop fucking up my family , just kind of trying to get rid of her- but i liked the book because the story and the way she writes are both so interesting.

That's odd. I just looked through my copy and it's printed as Lydon. Maybe my copy is newer.

Anyway, I first read this about 5 years ago and I still pick it up every now and again to read my favourite sections. There's just something about it that's so captivating, and yet at the same time equally heartbreaking.

I really felt for the Spungen family.

The book is amazing. I read it for AP Language and Composition over the summer, and I'm glad I picked it.

yeah but i think by that point nothing they could do was going to have an impact on nancy, so right or wrong they had to focus on the other two children. nancy was never going to be cured and be normal, healthy and happy.

she was diagnosed as being schiztophrenic i believe. she had various symptoms though that didnt seem to fit a clinical picture of anything. her mother thinks she was autistic and her behaviour would suggest that but it was never proved.

Speaking of cringe worthy: last summer, I was visiting a friend and she had this friend over who I believe is a bit of a mental case. She pointed to a picture of Sid Vicious on the wall and proceeded to ask if that was the guy Kate Moss is currently dating. Biggest WTF moment ever.

Sorry, this is off topic but still Sex Pistols related!
