I'm not sure if all those are the correct titles/authors. I hope she likes them =)

I would really suggest Francesca Lia Block, I got her books for all my friends when we were that age because they didn't read, and she's really easy to read but she's got some substance too. They all read/loved them.

If she hasn't read To Kill a Mocking Bird, she should read that. I read it when I was about 11/12 and really enjoyed it, but revisiting it when I'm older makes me realise that there are quite a lot of clever little in jokes I just didn't appreciate when I was younger. I just finished reading We Need To Talk About Kevin, which might be quite appealing to a teen, one because it centres round something that happens at high school, and secondly, its broken up into letters, which make it quite readable.

Another interesting choice might by Jonathan Safron Foer- personally I prefer Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, but lots of people preferred Everything is Illuminated. I found them fascinating, moving and interestingly done- printing the text funny, inserting pictures, doodles- all sorts. Quite good if she thinks books are staid and boring.

I adored Naked Lunch, and read it last year. When I was a junior in highschool.
But. It could be disturbing for some? I remember reading a section aloud in a study hall and having people tell me to shutup. lol

No offense, but they were probably telling you to shut up because its damn annoying when anyone reads aloud and you don't ask for it. I didn't find naked lunch disturbing as much as it being an orgy of self gratification for William Burroughs. Incidently I once read a book his son had written, called Kentucky Ham and I FAR preferred it.
