awww, i love hand made things. those lights/lanterns are lovely.

we had the same no sharp objects rule on the mental ward (which is what it was, after all), but oddly enough, in day care they let us use all the woodworking tools.

i have 100s of buttons, literally - shame i can't pass them on.

I cut out little deer shapes, gingerbread, birds, trees, flowers, and uhhh... stars out of felt for them to glue on. Hoping to get some buttons and sequins!!
I didn't want to elaborate on facebook because a friend took offense when I used the phrase "mental ward" once and now I don't like elaborating, but I basically can't do ANY cutting activities, or bring it needles, or glass, etc. anything that could become a weapon against themselves or others... Crafting is so limited there

I was hoping to do this for my birthday on Friday, but we don't really have any snow. Not that I'm complaining.
oh they sound like they're going to be gorgeous! and that wee lanterns are amazing! i think our snow and ice is going to melt this weekend

i am going to get coloured paper in town to make paper chains

I think these are quite cute:

At my flat we just have a light up tree that doesn't really require decoration but I might buy some nice baubles just to hang about the place.

When I go home though I'll help my dad with his tree and I'll have a lot of fun throwing tinsel everywhere because I am a child.

I like to collect twigs and spray gold colour on them.
Works really well in a vase or also as table decoration.
