what is the rational reason for this?
the history of how this totally ****ing bizarre habit happened?

because i can't think of a single actual reason why the place where they drain and clean bodies has to be in the basement of someone's house, and the ground floor of that house, is the business. and then you are supposed to just, live on top like that **** is normal.

i tried to google it.

the whole funeral thing is so ****ed. when my grandpappy died a couple of years ago i was so happy that he hated all that **** so we didn't have to do it. we just had a party at his favorite bar and drank scotch & water in his honor. best funeral ever.

theres a funeral home in my town that doesnt do that. i know this cause its right by one of the libraries and so i pass by it too often.

its really flashy though and that i dont understand.
i think funeral homes should be more modest and not looking all semi-country club like the one by me. ****ing weird. but at least there arent people living in the upstairs, eating dinner and watching re-runs of the golden girls or something while there are dead people in the basement.
