i don't think it's bad.

look at it this way. if "retard" isn't even a term meant for them anymore and it's "mentally challanged" or "mentally handicapped", why the hell do they want us to stop calling OTHER people retard? why can't we just not call them that? that seems fair, right? or is it because i've been up all night so i'm therefore a little bit ****ing insane.

Personally, I think EVERY derogatory term for a minority (or majority) group should not be used in every day conversations.

Not only are they offensive, but bad manners.

Trying to remain civil is a challenge worth accepting.

On a personal note - in class recently some students started insulting religion and religious people. I found that offensive.

Now I know how clotty feels to be persicuted for being an smelly mexican.
