omg remember those awful pro-ana sites and those skeletors who ran them? it was so sad. last time i tried to look at them, (a couple years ago as a psych project i wanted to do), those sites were shut down and it was hard to get into them anymore.

is that still the case or have people wised up on their own?? cuz that was some sickass ****. and not sick in a good way.

there was a big Oprah expose in 2006 about the pro-ana web rings, and there was a big push to get rid of them (even from lawmaker).

it got pretty quiet for a while there, but now it's easy to find pro-ana communities. they've just moved from domain names to social networking sites (private facebook groups, livejournal, etc). you just have to know the keywords to search for.
