my debit card only lets me overdraw if it somehow doesn't know i don't have enough. like if i buy things before other purchases have gone through so the balance says its bigger than it is. but if i really only have $6 and i try to spend $6.25 - they say no **** you lady.

the last time i was at whole foods i was short $2 so i sent back a pumpkin and all these white people behind me where annoyed or embarrassed for me. and i was embarrassed as all hell. but then i went to trader joes and saw that same $4 pie pumpkin for $2 and said **** this. i'm going to put my ****ing groceries back if i want. and i hem and haw in the store anyway. constantly putting things back if something else is cheaper or i start doing the maths.

if you do it as a credit, it should. credit takes longer to clear.

this learning how to be poor out loud is kind of embarrassing to watch.

it doesn't work that way with bank of america debit cards. the credit card is a different card. grocery stores generally take 2 days to clear on BofA so she should be fine if it's the only thing she buys.
