Methamphetamine is a secondary amine, phentermine is a primary amine; methamphetamine is an alpha-methylphenethylamine derivative, phentermine is alpha,alpha-dimethylphenmethylamine; methamphetamine is a strong central stimulant, phentermine is a moderately powerful central stimulant; methamphetamine has activity on dopaminergic, noradrenergic and serotonogic systems, phentermine is mainly active on just dopaminergic and noradrenergic systems; methamphetamine is a strongly re-enforcing, highly euphoric, highly addictive drug, phentermine is a pale shadow of what methamphetamine is in that it's only barely euphoric and not really that prone to abuse in the way that methamphetamine is.

The last point (in bold type) should be enough to convince you that no matter what you do with phentermine it isn't going to do even a fraction of what methamphetamine does - so don't even bother thinking of turning it into an easily vapourized form.

PS They are very difficult to interconvert, despite belonging to the same basic structural group (phenethylamines)
