however, i live in a town where everybody is racist without even recognising it and that really gets to me. There are alot of homophobic people here as well, including my dad. I'd be too scared to tell him I'm bisexual. |

| | | i'm scared of black men. i'm not ashamed to admit it, because i hate racism, and intellectually i'm not a racist, but the people who attacked me were black and the people who came into my house were black, and i already don't leave the house very much, but when i do, i get quite paranoid. i know it's irrational, and i don't make conscious decisions based on race. it's like an unconscious fear. and i don't have racist beliefs, i don't even believe black men are more likely to hurt me than any other population group. but if i'm walking home and a black man is walking up the street behind me i FREAK OUT.
but then the people who attacked me were also men, and i've been known to get off a bus about 1 km before my stop because it's getting late and there's only men left on the bus and they scare me.
so i have an irratinal fear of strange men too, but this thread is about racism.

There are some black African folk Im a bit scared of, not so much hate. One once tried to kiss me and wanted me to marry him when I was 14!  Just so he could stay in the country....Im glad I didnt get abducted. I think of that poor girl in England who got raped tortured and killed and her friend that got shot in the head and survived, if anyone remembers that horrific story it just makes yo want to deport their butts back to Africa  |
