| | | High School Reunions - Why the fuck am I going? And other questions I am going to my tenth year high school reunion later this month. Anyway, I really have no idea why I am even going, my excuse is to just see my good friends I haven't seen in a decade or so. I was semi-popular for just being a bit insane at school (I looked a bit...different back then, to say the least), and while I did have a lot of friends, I suppose, like most kids in the high school I went to, I couldn't wait to get out of there. In addition, I am curious if the same social roles will be going on at the reunion (i.e. the bitchy people still being bitchy, the nerds still being treated like nerds, etc., which I think is just lame). I am just kind of nervous, how the hell do you act around people you haven't really seen in a decade or so??? Has anyone else gone to one of these, and if you did how did it go? If it sucks, should I leave? |

| | | I didn't want to go at first & then two of my oldest friends talked me into it and it turned out to be pretty cool...there were still people living in high school time and some still acted like douchebags, but for the most part it was a fucking scream to see who had a tons of kids, who was bald/balding, who got fat, who got skinny, etc...
go, if people act retarded, leave...but give some a chance to show that
they have changed for the better

| | | I have yet to go to one (since ive only been outta HS for 4 years) but i would imagine that its got to be sort of awkward. You havent seen these people in years and who knows what they have been up to...but at the same time that could be fun too. (?)
Just be yourself and dont worry so much about "how to act" because im sure they will be much more impressed at how you grew up rather than think "ugh, shes NOTHING the same." |

| | | I have changed a lot since then, which honestly is a good thing. I am more nervous about other peoples' behavior, to tell the truth.
Adding to the H.S. reunion thing is that a really crappy friend (people from the last KR will know who I am talking about) is going too, and she IS still kind of a bitch. So I'm sure some drama will be going on whether I like it or not. I just want to go mingle with people and have some fun, not to make fun of people or be bitchy, etc. |

| | | If she tries, just act calm, cool and collected about it. If she tries drama in a place that is supposed to be fun and a time for reminiscing, SHES going to be the one to look stupid, not you.
Either that or id be like "ill meet you at the flagpole at recess, bitch!"

| | | I hated my school. I remember when OJ Simpson was found not guilty, the douche bag vice principal made an announcement. And all these idiots started cheering in the halls. |

| | just smile at her- a genuine smile and ignore any other stupid shit that
goes on- you'll prevail.
I've changed a TON since high school too, and for the better I might add it's fun to have people freak out over you...and tell you things like they were
afraid of you because you we all goff/punk rock & chain smoking & would tell teachers/principals to fuck off at the drop of a hat...and you don't remember it that way, but a lot of it is true heh

| | | If my 7th form class was to have a reunion it would be this year. Unsure if I'd go or not, but it is only just down the road so it'd be rude not to. Luckily none is planned.
Emily, on the other hand, you should definitely go and make a big splash. Are you distant enough from most other people to lie your arse off and not get caught? Consider it! |

| | True, I was kind of feared in school a bit, I guess. I was "punk", smoked a lot, and would generally torment people I despised (basically jocks/people who pissed me off). I have grown up A LOT back then, I'm pretty ashamed of the way I treated some people in high school, even though eventually I became friends with some of the people I didn't like in the future, weirdly enough (even though I was totally a psycho to them at previous points). Oh well, I suppose I have matured a lot since then though.... |

| | And I wonder what kind of music will be playing. Lots of bad mid-1990s R&B, I guess. Lots of Jodeci and R. Kelly. I want to hijack the DJ booth and play the shit I listened to back then, although people would get a lot of Peter Murphy and goth shit. |

| | | my whole life has been a high school reunion. we all lived together in new york in a pretty tight community and other peripherals would visit. my best friends are from high school.
but i don't know if i'd pay $50 for a piece of well done flank steak and a glass of watery zinfandel just to confirm that john durbin is, in fact, now bald. |

| | | I can't STAND my highschool reunions. I graduated on 2001 but we were a small class(20 students or so), so there is this small group that makes us see each other regualrly and it sucks. I feel like they haven't changed. What's worse is that I feel they are old. They have become so boring. Whenever I see them I feel like a loser and I know I'm not. |

Or if I did I would be sure to take a fuckload of mushrooms before I went and describe to people what their hairdo tastes like!
If it sucks you should go YOU ALL SUCK and walk out! That way it'll give them all something else to talk about than themselves <3 |

Or hang out with my renegade group of friends who aren't going to the reunion. It would be kind of funny if I showed up on mushrooms and tasted everyone's hair though, although considering the way I was in high school, they would probably not be shocked to see me doing that. |

I would totally say it at my reunion though. | |
