what do you do when you accidently embarrass someone?

i was drunk and said something retarded that i shouldn't have. i completely embarrassed this girl, she wouldn't even look at me when i was apologizing. i said sorry alot and i said "i would of done the same thing too" trying to make her feel better. (regarding what i said that offended her in the first place)

so now im sure she totally hates me and i dont want her to hate me. isnt it possible to make amends tho?? if someone came to me and they were truly sorry, i would get over it! i would probably respect them a little for going out of their way and saying sorry to my face the next day.

what should i do? i should go over there to her house and explain myself right? or just drop it and deal with her hating me?

if you already sincerely apologized, there's not much more you can do.

if she wants to hold a grudge about it that's her problem.

i'd just let it go. she'll come around or she won't. either way, you did your part.

last summer, her husband told us that she spit in our water jug before giving it to us.

so last night, something just reminded me of that and i thought it was funny at the time cos i was drunk, so i say "remember that time you spit in our water jug, that was so funny" i wasnt even thinking.

it was her, her husband, me, my boyfriend, and her father in law out there. so they all heard. her husband, me, and my bf already knew about it when it happened last summer. so the only person that really found out last night when i said it was her husband's dad/her father in law. but he is the kind of guy that doesn't give 2 ****s about much.

should i write her a little note explaining to her that i didnt think before i spoke and how i dont care at all that she did that. like i wasnt offended that she spat in our water jug b/c her husband gives her a hard time all the time and she was just getting back at him probably. i dont want her to hate me
