michael gough, best alfred ever

i was in the cafeteria today studying for a final and heard these two raver (?) cunts talking about the batman franchise.

as a fucking loser, this really bothered me. i'm in no way exaggerating to make this story more post-worthy. not that i ever get my due anyway. this might get two responses at the most and a handful of views.

but i hate when people i feel would have been mean to me in high school trespass on what i feel is my property.

one of these girls mentioned what a great alfred michael caine is. she didn't say it exactly, but it was pretty obvious she was making him out to be the definitive alfred. if she was a legitimate fan i wouldn't have minded, but it offended me a tourist would have the nerve to make such a grand statement.

michael caine sucks. he's all about the one-liners (i hate how he prefaces each joke with a chuckle...alfred would never be that presumptuous), and it's obvious he feels bigger than the part.

michael gough was a delight as alfred. pure charm & absolute perfection in that role.

i think batman begins in general is overrated. too many sheep were too quick to toss the burton films aside.

i'm sorry i have no input on the alfred situation.

but i will say that i hate a lot of the actors who obviously just wanted to be part of the batman movie franchise and didn't care how stupid they looked. *cough*UMA*cough*

and i know there are like a million examples of this exact thing, but it embarrasses me, not only as an american but as a human being, that this:

is a governor.

i didn't like batman begins at all. i didn't like any of them except the tim burton ones.
it's not often that i find myself agreeing with cleetus but yes, michael gough was the best alfred ever. every actor in batman returns was perfect for their role.

I enjoyed Batman Begins, but I don't think it was revelatory. I am a huge fan of Christian Bale and think he did well in the role, but there were glaring faults... and Michael Caine was probably one of them. I would want him more in a "conniving businessman" role. Why is he always nice these days?

And Michael Gough is great. He has had a couple of pretty cool roles in the old series of Doctor Who as well. I like the man.

My fav was always Batman Returns, the cast was perfect and not as hyped. Batman & Robin seemed like a horrible move for casting, Arnold Schwarzenegger seemed out of place... special effects kinda saved the movie a bit.
