| | | Uhm, well, I'm a winter/fall person so I go for walks usually, but since I've moved I don't really haave anywhere to walk and the houses around here are under 20 years olds and are ugly as sin. So. Read? Watch more movies? Take up alcoholism?

I like to - cook/invent new recipes
- read
- modge podge
- work on christmas presents eventually
- go for walks
- visit people in warmer places
- take long bubble baths
- watch movies- but that might count as watching the tv?

| | | i haven't watched telly in like 3 weeks unless someone was at my house watching it.
mostly because the tv is usually set to the channel you watch dvds on and not a channel you can watch telly on.
that is how lazy i am.
i just drink a lot and read internet?

| | | I went about a year without watching tv. I didn't miss it as I watched a lot of films. Now I like having it, becuase I find that I ponder things too much when not mindlessly distracted. I do watch tv, but not really network shows. Oddly enough I watch some crap -- like Rock of Love. Mainly I watch home repair / decorating shows or court tv or animal documentaries. I keep planning to start embroidery. I got some cool patterns on sublimestiching.com and it SEEMS like it is easy. Anyone know? I like to do my nails becuase it keeps me concentrating ondoing something that takes little brain power. Whebn I have more space ( buying a condo I hope) I plan to so some painting and collage work.
Whatever you do ----
GEt yourself some whole cloves and cinnamon sticks and oranges and vanilla. Every winter I simmer these ingredients ( just the peel of the orange) to make my place smell divoone. |

| | | Yeah I don't think I've ever heard someone say "I don't watch TV" without sounding like they thought they were really fucking cool because of it.
But yeah, cutting down if you want to can be hard. I know about this. But there's no hope for me now because my boyfriend got me a remote control for my birthday because I didn't have one and I was always bitching and swearing whenever I had to get off my ass to change the channel of adjust the volume. Now my lounging capabilities are fucking like bunnies. Bunnies!
I don't think movies count. You should subsribe to Netflix. Then you can still be sitting in front of your TV without watching TV. You can even rent seasons of TV shows then you don't spend as much time watching shows because of no commercials.
I was trying to cut down on magazine reading for a while, but then I said FUCK THAT SHIT. |

thing you could do other than teevee
learn to knit
more dioramas
mat and frame works of art
100 crunches a day (i'm planning on this as soon as i can get past twenty!)
crossword puzzles, regular puzzles
board games with friends, charades with friends
dinner parties
improve the house... paint do a backsplash in the kitchen
learn to make difficult pastries (and then airmail them to me)

we took out our cable two and a half years ago. havent looked back. you know you can get a subscription to blockbuster for three dvd's at a time and return them in a store in exchange for MORE dvd's while you wait for the ones in the mail to come. its the best deal in america. that particular one is 24 bucks a month. they have cheaper.
