YES THERE'S LIKE A HUNDRED DIFFERENT BREWERIES IN BAVARIA...and quite a lot of them sell their beer to supermarkets. There's everything! Lager, Pils, dark beer, stark beer, common brands, local brands...
muenchen is ... i feel ambiguous about it. i stem from a big city area as well, but it's no way like Munich. Every cliché about Germany comes true here, which is pretty interesting (I now can totally understand the image that tourists must get - leather pants, beer and pretzels).
It's a beautiful city. It is rich, snobby, vaste, interesting, .... and yet it's cosy. I don't know. I don't feel home at all, but it feels good being here. I wouldn't want to stay here forever, though. It's just not "my genre of people".
