POLICE have set up a taskforce to track down a serial sex offender preying on elderly women in Melbourne.
Police believe the same man is responsible for sexual assaults on two women in nursing and retirement homes in the Kilsyth area over the past 10 months.
The first assault happened on August 23 last year, when an 89-year-old woman was assaulted in her unit at a Montrose nursing home.
In the second attack, a 74-year-old woman was assaulted after investigating a noise at the garage door of her Kilsyth retirement home.
The pensioner was led to a secluded area and sexually assaulted.
Members from the sexual crime squad, local detectives and uniform police have launched Operation Rallye to investigate the assaults.
Detectives said the offender appeared genuinely remorseful after the second incident and urged him to contact police.
Police have increased patrols in the area and urged elderly residents to be aware of their personal security, particularly after dark.  |

or we could do the poncy laneway places like st jeromes which i've never been but wouldn't mind going to, or cookie which again not been too but heard good things.
