| | | Intellectual snobbery, are you guilty?? You you a real life Ophiel? Its awful and negative behaviour but c'mon, admit the times when you felt completely justified in doing it...your stories, pleeze.
I had my moment during the week. I went to a pet farm back in my home town. It had every baby animal you could think of. I petted three litters of mongrel puppies, fed baby lambs and a calf, petted guinea pigs rabbits, kitties, pot belly piggies, foals ect.. Now i had no guilty qualms about the fact, well, this place is mostly a place for mom's and dad's to come bring their kids to shut them up for a few hours and not a place for three grown adults, one including myself. I dont give a shit, I felt really relaxed out there with all the cuteness and free range petting.
Now, some mom gave me the dirty look with her three kids like, omg, this is for SMALL KIDZ, what you doing here?? And one of them was like mommy mommy, what's that bird? Pointing to a peacock right in front of us that spread its huge tail feathers trying to impress the peahens. The mom asked, what's that bird there, I was like, "That's a peacock."
SMALL KIDZ my ass, she could go get an education on birds and mammals. I wont even divulge another woman who refered the the guinea pigs as, "oh look at them huge hamsters!" Hahaha.....no I wont feel embarrassed when its these kinda women that are giving ME funny looks. |

| | No, Ireland would you believe, where apparently if the animal doesnt have a practical use, it isnt worth knowing about but seriously, people in the mid west would probably know more about animals for sure. |

I'm just a judgemental cow though.

Im NOT talking all intellectual history here, God no, just like, why does a rainbow/prism/spectrum have seven colours and stuff? I was just peeved at grown ups who shouldnt be all, 'you should already know about animals and stuff,' to me, (which I do) when they dont know it themselves.

I have a Juris Doctorate and am back getting another Master's. It makes me happy. I'll never stop asking questions or caring about what's going on but I don't want to be a snob. I think all that work in school just trains you to think differently than people who have stopped their education. It's sort of lonely for me, I'll admit, but if I didn't do this, I'd be really dissatisfied with myself. It's hard though, because my friends/peers never went back to school and like Bleeding Heart said, they're shut down and don't want to talk about anything but themselves. I can't really bring up any outside topics or they think I'm being an intellectual fuck. So, yeah...I guess I'm a snob because it's getting harder to act my age or whatever. |

because they can probably sense just by looking at you that are more intelligent/educated than they are
