what practical jokes have you had played on you/seen/performed recently?

it's persian new year for me which basically means christmas x2 on the present front. suddenly my parents started acting all weird & saying they would have to pop out to pick up my present because they couldn't have left it in the house...
so i started to wonder what the hell it was, it sounded like it was a living thing...

then my dad went outside & pretended to drive off somewhere to get it... & then he comes back & all i can hear is him saying "they're sleeping" & was like oh SHIT he's got me a pet. idon't want any pets. i hate pets. NOOOOOO. & they know that i do so why the hell have they done that?!
then they call me into the kitchen & i can just see this little dog curled up in a dog basket with it's heart beating. they got one for my sister as well & she was completely horrified. we're both university students & neither of us wants a pet dog. we both hate pets.
i just had this mental image of myself as the character jack in jack & sarah when he gets the new baby & he doesn't know what to do with it so he holds it at arms length in a really awkward way.
flashing forward to a life with a dog i just don't want.

anyway i get a bit closer & i realised it wasnt real! my cheeky parents went out & bought really convincing fake dogs haha. with batteries that makes their chests move up & down so they look like they're breathing.

i know i'm weird, i think most people would love a pet & would be super disappointed but it would probably be the worst present EVER to get me. i don't want any. especially not right now. cheeky gits.

i'm sure you guys have better ones than that, so lemme hear them.

hahaha that's an admirable amount of effort to go to for a practical joke. your parents sound pretty cool.

i can't think of any good practical jokes at the moment though...

I just have to say - Jack and Sarah is like one of the best movies. EVER. I've only ever met a handful of people who have seen it

they're pretty nuts, but they don't usually play practical jokes on me... so i completely fell for it. haha. i guess they brought me up well, i ahve so much trust in them that i will just assume they are telling the truth all the time.

oh it's wonderful isn't it i have it on dvd & watch it every now & then. i love richard e. grant.

in my youth I wasn't averse to putting a sheet of clingfilm over the toilet bowl at dull parties.
