theres this one girl at work named cassie who follows my and my friends around. no one likes her because she is completely a one upper and constantly talks about herself and how every guy there has a crush on her (when in truth we all talk mad shit about her behind her back)

i get sick of constantly hearing just how awesome she is when im trying to work. im nice to her because i dont want conflict at work but i really dont think i can grin and bear it much more. she flipped out saturday night when my friends and i cancelled on her because we didnt wanna hang out with her, we pretty much told her another night would be better. she got all whiny and was like but i already told my mom that im staying out all night. THE GIRL IS FUCKING 18. why should she need permission from her mom?
i just get this overall feeling that this girl is hiding the fact that she is completely psychotic and i dont wanna be in the damage path when she snaps.
has any one else ever dealt with something like this before?
any tactful ways to tell her to fuck off?

i like how you think you are so above this girl. 'me and my friends' this, 'me and my friends' that like you're some elite clique to which she is not allowed privy. what is it, payback time or something?

i get on really well with the people i work with.
mainly because a lot of them take too many drugs and drink to excess.

Take my advice and don't admit that you think she's a complete fucking nutjob. She'll follow you around 10x as much I'm sure.
You know, just by personal experience.

In all seriousness, just don't make plans with her, don't act particularily nice/mean to her, don't stick around her long enough to hear a story, remain a neutral and she'll get bored of you.

tell her to fuck off if you don´t like her. i did once, there was this guy at work asking me out and he was the biggest ass ever. i saw him in town a year later and he talked to me like nothing ever happened and i was like, geez go away.

Just wait until they get fired. That's what I did.

haven't had that happen to me mainly because i can tolerate annoying people/situations for long periods but i guess the only way would be to just totally ignore her.

That's what I say too. You don't want to cause conflict at work so just act uninterested, but not in a mean way. When she talks to you, don't volunteer your opinion or any anecdotes of your own. Unless she's really clueless, she will latch on to some other sucker at some point.

I agree with this. neutral is the key. don't give her a reason to want to hang out with you. and maybe if you tone down the "elite" vibe of your group she'll piss off.

try working for a company in which they are laying you off, and all you work with is petty bitches. they gosspi about the other grrrls all the time. take 10 smoke breaks a day together, eat nothing but fast food and their chunky and all fat and then they pick on you, 3 of them are your managers, they dont work as it is. except eat burrtios at thier desk while they check their email.
they all complain about complaining. and have nothing but an attitude. they feelings get hurt about burnt popcorn and bright pink shoes. they come in everyday as a bitch. i fucking hate it. only 14 more days of it thou.

me too. there is one woman who is super tense and will snap at me, but i even like her. she cant help being tense! the job is really stressfull and people handle stres sin different ways

Ya office gossip is bad. At my last job, the ladies I worked with gossiped soooo much about eachother! I got frustrated with it but I still liked all of these ladies.
Now I work alone and it's soooo boring and lonely. My boss is the only one here and he never talks to me. I'd rather work with gossips than no one.
Although Rat Face, your co-workers sound like shit! It's best you work somewhere where you are apreciated. I'm sure your lay off will be for the best in the long run!

theres this guy at work who thinks he's really rad, hilarious and a know-it-all in terms of bus things (we're bus drivers)...he's none of teh above.

i cannot stand up he pretends to be your bestfriend and comes up to hug you randomly. i never hug back i never do much of anything. he's always offering to buy me lunch or take me to dinner or asking if i want to go to an Angels game with him because he ALWAYS has an extra ticket. he says he has a gf but no one believes him.

however i notice he doesnt bother me anymore because i just don't give him any attention or pretend to laugh at his unfunny jokes. i do my best to never have him in my presence for too long.

I don't make friends with or go out socially with people from work usually. I will talk to them just generally but if they knew what I was really like they would run away crying. I did meet one lady that was fucking great at one of my old jobs and I still talk to her but she was a bit of a weirdo too.. Ohh and a creepy guy I met when I worked in the library turned out to be one of my best friends now.

I hate it at work that everyone is always trying to organise lame social gatherings. Just because they have no life other than work doesn't mean everyone in the office should be subjected to their pathetic outings.

at my last job (library) they were always doing that and they were offended and took it personally and held it against me that i never once went to any of their get togethers
i am pretty much opposed to making friends with people i work with
i go to work to work

was your experience working at the library one of your worst jobs ever?
god i hated it, the type of people who worked there just really rubbed me the wrong way
