Okay, so I can't find my cell phone charger.
My parents decide to intervene and come look for it personally. I didn't want them to, but they didn't listen, of course. They come into my room and look in every corner, going through my desk drawers, dresser drawers, closet, computer desk, everywhere. They looked through everything and threw everything around so I would have to clean it up. I think this is reallly rude but they dismissed it with a "shut up and get over it".

Yeah I was furious. They didn't understand why I was so angry, they said I must have something to hide. I told them I had nothing to hide, it's just annoying when someone is going through your personal items. I asked them how would they like it if I was going through their drawers and personal items? They said they wouldn't care and they have nothing to hide.

hmthis one time my parents found in my diary a list of 30 crazy things to do in my lifetime and my dad fucking freaked out. I don't get it. he's the one that went through my journal and he's the one that made mefeel guilty about it...honestly I had no privacy when I lived with them, they would even open my mail, well my dad would open my mail. when I think back it gets me pissed again.

Ew, you expect us to actually feel sorry for you. Your spoiled bratishness never ceases to disgust me. Be thankful your parents didn't kick your annoying carcass out of the house when you turned 16.

I suggest you cut yourself, pack your belongings, run away and become a drug addled prostitute. but be sure to take the cell phone that your parents pay for, that is of course if you can find your charger.

My mom'll sometimes do that. Or my brother if he needs to find something. But I usually DO have things hiding in my room (bottles of alcohol, drug paraphernalia...teenage shit) It always pisses me off.

You might like to winge and moan a bit quieter in future. They were probably responding to the amount of angst you were giving off. I know these things are irritating but they do care really.

You're making a mountain out of a molehill here. I presume that you were present while they were doing all that, so they wouldn't have been giving too much attention to all of the stuff that doesn't resemble a phone charger.

But I'd agree that it is annoying when your parents decide that they TOTALLY NEED TO FIND SOMETHING in your room and take it upon themselves to rake around the entire place without consulting you first. My parents did this to me countless times. Rather than call me and say "where am I likely to find [whatever] in your room?" and me being able to help them locate it in 5 seconds flat, they'd just go on an extensive search for it. This is how my parents found out that: 1. I smoked, 2. I had become sexually active (condoms in my bedside drawer), and 3. I am on the pill.

It's so good to have moved out.

And I know you consider your bedroom your private area (and it is in terms of being able to retain your dignity while dressing and sleeping) but you have to remember that it's really not your space, it's just a little piece of someone else's space (in this case your parents'). You're over 16 now and, since that's the age you could legally move out, you have to take particular care in treating the household with respect. If you've anything that's worth hiding from them, then chances are you probably shouldn't be keeping it there in the first place. The only exception I can think of would be diaries and similar.

I'd slap my parents if they ever did that to me. Fortunately they know better to invade my privacy or reorganize my belongings without asking first. If they don't, they know to expect a hot slap in the face. It's happened before.
