| nova SS clone Hard to find in the New York City area, with such a straight body & paint. When I bought the car in 2004, the prior owner was racing the car on the track with a 4-speed and no power steering. I decided to make the car a daily driver, and added some SS items. Here's what I've done to date: - replaced manual transmission with TH-350 Powerglide and Hurst floor shifter; - added power steering - put in new Monroe rear air shocks - replaced brakes; motor mounts; re-hung exhaust; replaced alternator & starter - replaced racing wheel with original steering wheel - added passenger chrome side mirror; Edelrbrock air filter; chrome valve covers; gaskets; oil filter & temperature gauge; instrument cluster; SS fender emblems; SS grill & emblem; rear window de-fogger Here's what still needs doing: - frame to body bushings are worn; - interior needs some work. Passenger side bucket seat is in great shape, but driver's side needs re-upholstering and re-framing. I put in some carpet, but the whole interior could use an eventual upgrade (not immediately necessary); - car has no AC, but has some of the parts & pump connector is there - the ignition bezel could use tightening up, as it can be hard to turn if the wheel locks. The paint is in good condition. The right rear fender was recently side swiped by some unknown individual, removing some of the paint and denting the rim above the wheel, but this is a minor repair. No real evidence of rust problems, other than the trunk, which has been cut & welded. |
