because destruction is the default setting & i see no point of pushing things in the same direction they were going anyways. that's like being worth less than an inanimate object. and i don't cut out, i salvage. that's how i work

sell them a bigger alternative. the same one i'd need if i was them. the same one i may end up using again someday. empathy requires a bit of abstraction. the only thing i can't really empathize w/ is the absolute finality of actually offing yourself. it's severely alienating/mindfucking to me when people do that.
they play the better 1/2 of my brain sometimes. but not really, no. i could really get away w/ semi-repressed suicidal tendencies & only a couple people would try to stop me.

saving people is DEFINITELY not the same as being a protective type. you can want to save people and have no interest in protecting anything. like, sometimes you just help people. it's not the same as caring about them. finding them personally valuable.

I dont think that you can. You can give them tools, support and guidance to keep their heads out of the gutter, but to save somoene is a huge responsibility and one that I dont thinkt hat alot of people are able to take on themselves. Gotta save yourself in this world.
