| | | i miss my city. a lot.
i miss everything about it.
my city is winnipeg, manitoba, canada.
i lived there for 8 years and i will always call it my city, my home.
i'm feeling very homesick lately...maybe because the holidays are so near.
i think we all have a city that we relate to, that we call our own, that we call home.
what is your city?
and tell me a little about it. |

| | | Yep , when I moved fomr Long Islad to Flordia I was so home sick. I still am esp now. Long Island had the best summers , all the town pools , the local Ice Cream man , all the shops right on your street. But now fall is here and I miss the change of season. The color of the trees , the decaying leaf smell haha. All the fireplaces burning. It gets better but it really sucks when tyhe little things you used to enjoy so much are no longer there. |

| | my city isn't even where i grew up. it's watertown, ny.
it's where i spent summers as a kid, until i was about 15.
i feel way more at home there than where i grew up and still live.
shanny, i think a long time ago, pre hack, there was a thread about cities and i remember you posted a bunch of old pictures of watertown for me |

| | | my city sucks. it didnt used to, but its so over crowded by bad drivers and people who dont know the laws that its suffocating and angers me on a daily basis.
my city no longer has a cute shopping area, a main street, like other towns. its overrun by stores selling cheap jewlery, phone cards and saaris.
my city has dirty streets and no place to park.
sorry this is so negative, but i feel it everyday and it really sucks. i cant wait to move, although i wont be far enough away. |

I did not grow up there, nor did I live there for very long, but it will always be my city. I've never felt so at home anywhere else. |

It's not huge (350,000) but it's nicely spread out and it feels like home. There's always enough for me to do and enough people to hang out with, so I can't moan about its size. I went there for University and 10 years later I consider it my home. I've been there so long I'm losing my "weird" regional accent, which I'm not totally pleased about.
Lots of parks, gardens and trees. It's the "garden city" of New Zealand, and from what I've seen it deserves the title. Some of the nice old buildings are disappearing though.

| | shanny i KNOW how you feel.
it's been two yrs (more than 2 actually) and i miss my city, family, county, friends, etc. like CRAZY!!
sometimes it's unbearable. i can't even talk to them on the phone coz i start sobbing. i can't evenr watch istanbul, ankara or turkey on the tv and whenever they are on, i start crying. it doesn't matter if it's just news or anything.
a lotta ppl that i know went to turkey in the last couple of months. i was more excited than they were. i felt sad coz they were going to MY country and i was stuck here in LA.
do i whine a lot?? |

| | | my city will always be sydney. even though i fucking hate it a lot of the time, i've lived here for almost my entire life. so i do love it at the same time. i just can't stand to live here for the rest of my life.
but... even after i move in a few years... i know i'll still be coming back here frequently. i will miss some things about it. it's definitely a love/hate thing here. i'll appreciate the city more when i'm not actually living here.
