all this breast cancer awareness **** ****es me off

it is no longer a charity, it is an industry
people feel good because they can go to walmart and buy socks with llittle pink ribbons on them and theyre like "oh i am such a good person for helping with breast cancer awareness"
**** that, you are just adding to some company's profits.
breast cancer will never be cured. they are slowly making advancements on treatment, but do you honestly think that pharmaceutical companies will allow it to be cured?
when i was younger it was one in 8 women who got breast cancer. now a few years later, when it is SOOO much more popular to be active in this cause, and ooh awareness blah blah, well now it is one in 7. good job people. one more person is dying because all you do is buy ****ing pink ribbon socks and jackets and pink ribbon shaped bagels (which by the way are the tastiest bagels at panera .. but probably do nothing for the cause)

its a bunch of ****ing bull****.

you're right, there are plenty of greedy little corporations looking to make an exra buck or three billion by taking advantage of charity organizations...but ya know what, at least the organizations are getting something. why buy a pair of fruit o the loom socks for the same price as a pair of socks in which ten percent of the proceeds will go to cancer research? because you're ****ed off that someone else is making a little money off of it too? They'll get what's coming to them, or if they don't, you can go ahead and personally make sure they get what's coming to them if you're so passionate about it, but don't forget - most of the consumers in those stores are greedy ****ers too. at least BCA can get a little bit of their cash and put it to good use. As long as the cancer rate continues to climb there will be people looking for a cure. Don't forget - the common cold was once a top notch death trap, and now we have medication for it being sold behind the register at restaurants and in little metal machines in the mall bathroom. You can go ahead and give up on the rest of the cancer stricken population - cut your losses because they're a waste of your time and money but don't forget, there are people out there who actually give a ****. the truth only comes out if there are people willing to fund and defend it. i don't see a problem in spending a buck or two on a pair of socks or a pin if it could eventually get somewhere.

any money that actually goes to research is great.

i am skeptical of some of these "causes" who solicit money.

i've lost my aunt and father to cancer this year and had several friends who've been touched by it.

y'know. if they ever cure breast cancer, A LOT more people will be out of a job...

i mean, i'd like to see a cure. but wouldn't that lead to a higher amount of poverty in the long run?
